“Well! Fall is almost here, and its time to  prepare for the season ahead.

These days, every dollar counts!

Some tips to help conserve:

A proper tune up will help save gas

Tire pressure is very important, both for saving gas, tire wear and safety.

On the open road, you can save more gas with the a/c on and the windows rolled up rather than with the a/c off and the the windows down, (air drag) equals less mileage. So make sure the a/c works properly and save some $$$

The a/c plays an important role in the winter as well. When you turn on the defrosters to clear the windows, the a/c runs to remove the humidity to windows don't fog up. Sound familiar?

This is also a good time to make sure everything under the hood is okay. While the engine is cold, check the antifreeze in the radiator or overflow bottle.

Remember, do this while the engine is cold, you don’t want to burn yourself. Make sure the antifreeze is a nice crisp color green, red, orange, or blue, or whatever color your vehicle manufacturer recommends. If you are not sure, check with the manufacturer of the product to get the details. Or come to Captain Hook's and they will take care of all of your needs because they have been doing this for many years and will be able to offer you valuable advice.

Make sure your wiper blades are in good condition and your washer bottle is full to be able to fend off  glare. Carry an extra gallon windshield washer in the trunk. Check all belts, hoses, and wires for any wear.
